This Privacy Policy sets out the privacy policies and practices for Uni-Select Inc. (“Uni-Select”) with respect to the collection, use and disclosure of personal information, including in respect of the www.uniselect.com Web site (the “Site”). We may add additional sites from time to time as we expand our product offerings and this Privacy Policy will govern those new sites. You may be accessing our Site from a computer or mobile phone device (for example, through an iPhone or iPad application) and this policy governs your use of our Site regardless of the means of access. Uni-Select may update this Privacy Policy upon reasonable notice (including by email or by posting on this Site).



Personal Information

Should you submit Personal Information relating to another party to us or to our service providers in connection with the Sites, you represent that you have the authority to do so and to permit us to use the information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

“Personal Information” is information that identifies you as an individual. Types of Personal Information we collect may include:

Collection of Personal Information

We only collect Personal Information when you voluntarily submit it to us or voluntarily register on our email alert list. You may not be able to receive emails from Auto-Select unless you voluntarily register with us.We may also collect information in connection with your visit to our Site through the use of cookies. Such information will be used to analyze trends, to administer the Site, to track visitors’ movements around the Site and to gather demographic information about our visitor base as a whole. How your Personal Information is used

Auto-Select collects Personal Information to send email alerts when issuing a press release. We usually use this Personal Information for internal purposes, such as studying the personal preferences of users of the Site.


Third-Party Websites and Social Media Widgets

We also like to interact with you on third party sites where we post content or invite your feedback, such as linkedin.com/company/Auto-Select-Inc. These third party sites may collect information about your IP address and which page you are visiting on our Site and they may set a cookie to make sure the feature functions properly. Social media features and widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our Site. In these cases, your Personal Information may be collected by this third party and not by us, and will be subject to the third party’s privacy policy, rather than this Privacy Policy. We have no control over, and are not responsible for, this third party’s use or disclosure of your Personal Information.


Disclosure of Personal Information

We share the Personal Information we collect with the subsidiaries and affiliates of Auto-Select. Auto-Select will transfer or otherwise disclose the information it collects from Auto-Select Site visitors to employees and independent contractors of Auto-Select, its parent corporation, subsidiaries, affiliates and service providers if the disclosure will enable that party to perform a business, professional, analytical or technical support function for Auto-Select or if required to do so by law. We will also transfer or otherwise disclose Personal Information in respect to judicial process, to comply with legal requirements, and, as permitted under provisions of law, to provide information to law enforcement agencies or in connection with an investigation on a matter related to public safety. We may also use your Personal Information as permitted by law to protect our rights or property, a Auto-Select Site, or its users. Notwithstanding this, the Careers section of this Site is activated and hosted by a third party. Accordingly, the personal information provided to Auto-Select through the Careers section will be available to that third party for the limited purposes of hosting and administering this particular section and our careers database. Your Personal Information will be subject to the third party’s privacy policy, rather than this Privacy Policy. We have no control over, and are not responsible for, this third party’s use or disclosure of your Personal Information. In the event that another company purchases the assets or stock of Auto-Select, its parent corporation, subsidiaries or affiliates, your Personal Information may become the property of another entity.



Retention and Protection of Files Containing Personal Information

We will use, disclose or retain your Personal Information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which that Personal Information was collected and as permitted or required by law. Personal Information collected from you is processed and backed up on a secured server. However, even though Auto-Select has put in place mechanisms and procedures to ensure the protection of your personal information that are considered to be effective, we cannot guarantee that such information will not be lost, used unlawfully or modified in a fraudulent manner since no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be completely confidential. Consequently, Auto-Select bears no liability for the use that may be made of the information by you or a third party.

Providing Access

We will give you access to the information we retain within a reasonable timeframe, upon written request, satisfactory identification and proof of entitlement. If you find any errors in the Personal Information retained by us, we urge you to contact us as soon as possible and we will make the appropriate corrections immediately, based on receipt of satisfactory evidence. You may submit a written request to the following address to review or correct any Personal Information about you that we have collected, used or disclosed: questions@uniselect.com (with a cc to legal@uniselect.com) If for some reason the request cannot be completed, we will advise you in writing of the reason for refusal. You may challenge our decision.

Opt-Out

You may opt out of receiving electronic mail by forwarding your request in writing to: questions@uniselect.com (with a cc to legal@uniselect.com) We may request that you provide satisfactory identification to permit access to the existence, use or disclosure of your Personal Information. Any such identifying information shall be used only for this purpose. We will attempt to respond to each of your written requests not later than thirty (30) days after receipt of such requests. We will advise you in writing if we cannot meet your requests within this time limit.

E-mail Security

“Phishing” is a scam designed to steal your Personal Information. If you receive an email that looks like it is from us asking for your Personal Information, do not respond. We will never request your password, user name, credit card information or other Personal information through email.

California Residents

If you are a California resident and have an established business relationship with us, you can request a notice disclosing the categories of Personal Information we have shared with third parties, for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes, during the preceding calendar year. Children’s Personal Information

We recognize the particular importance of protecting privacy where children are concerned. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information online from children under the age of 13. Governing Law, Arbitration and Evidence

This Site is controlled and operated by Auto-Select from Québec, Canada and these terms shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the laws of Canada applicable thereto without reference to principles of conflict of laws. You agree to be bound by such laws. Any dispute, controversy or claim arising out of or in connection with these terms or the use of this Site, including any matters regarding the invalidity or application of the terms of use, shall be referred to and finally resolved by the arbitration in the city of Montréal, Québec, in accordance with the provisions of Book VII of the Code of Civil Procedure of the Province of Québec. The arbitral tribunal shall be composed of one arbitrator. The language of the arbitration shall be French unless you prefer to conduct arbitration procedures in English and you have advised Auto-Select in due course. The arbitrator’s award shall be final and binding on all parties and judgment on the award may be entered and the award enforced in any court having jurisdiction thereof. Notwithstanding the foregoing, nothing contained herein shall be interpreted as precluding Auto-Select from exercising any extraordinary procedures under the Code of Civil Procedure of the Province of Québec, such as an injunction.

By providing your Personal Information to Auto-Select, you recognize that you have consented, expressly, freely and in full awareness to the collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Information by Auto-Select for the purposes specified in this Privacy Policy or otherwise as identified to you at the time of collection of the Personal Information.
